D’angelo Russell – The “Dry Snitcher”

D’Angelo Russell Reportedly Being Isolated by Teammates After Taping Nick Young

Los Angeles Lakers rookie D’Angelo Russell apparently missed the “Snitches get Stitches” memo.  A video popped up on Tuesday allegedly showing Russell secretly videotaping and recording a conversation in which he asked teammate Nick Young questions about being with other women.

Nick Young aka “Swaggy P” has been engaged to Australian rapper Iggy Azalea since last summer.

Russell can be heard on the video asking Young, “You was 30 and she was 19?” during a discussion about a woman that Young met out at a nightclub. Russell can be heard asking, “What about Amber Rose?” before Young responded with, “No, she knows my girl.”

Nick Young’s “girl”, Iggy Azalea, has since taken notice of the video filmed by Russell and taken to Twitter to respond. In a tweet sent out by the pop star early Wednesday morning, Azalea said, “I see D Angelo Russell is trending… I actually liked his film. Thanks bro.” It appears the fuse has been lit and we will be watching to see if it blows up on Swaggy P.

According to reports, “Trust in Russell from some teammates is eroding” now that the video has gone public. Apparently, “Lakers officials are aware of the situation” and they are none too happy with Russell.”

“Right now, they’re handling it by isolating him,” according to sources close to the Lakers organization. The situation came to a head recently during a team breakfast where NONE of his Lakers teammates would sit with D’angelo.

Los Angeles Lakers head coach Byron Scott is also dismayed with D’angelo Russell and his lack of maturity. “D’Angelo still has a playfulness about him” Scott was quoted as saying. “Sometimes in practice he’s joking around and losing a little bit of focus. But he’s 19. I understand that.”

Earlier in February, the Lakers head coach told reporters, “He’s such a kid”. “I told him the other day, ‘You’re 19 but sometimes I think you’re 14.'”

Should this be blamed on youth, or is this an extreme example of dry snitching? Did D’angelo violate the code of the locker room? Did he violate the “Bro Code”? Or was this an ok thing for him to do? Let us know what you think!
