DeMarco Murray Took Last Year Off In Philly

After a disastrous season with the Philadelphia   Eagles last year, former NFL leading rusher DeMarco Murray has been traded to the Tennessee Titans. However, he didn’t leave Philly without one last parting shot.

“I feel like I took a year off last year, so I am fresh,” Murray said, according to the Titans’ official site.

Murray took a year off

Murray may have been “joking”, but Philly fans don’t play that…. And will certainly have something to say about that little jab. DeMarco experienced a substantial drop in carries and production last year with the Eagles. He rushed for 702 yards on 193 carries in 2015, almost 200 carries fewer than what he had when he led the NFL in rushing in 2014.

The Tennessee Titans general manager Jon Robinson was able to pick up the NFL’s 2014 Offensive Player of the Year without giving up a lot in exchange. Murray recieved a new contract with the Titans and Tennessee made a straight across swap of fourth-round draft picks with Philadelphia.

After averaging a career-low 3.6 yards per carry last season, Murray is out to prove that last season was just a fluke.

Murray is Motivated

“I’m 100 percent (motivated),” he said. “The NFL is a place where you have to make the best of your opportunities, and every day is a challenge, every day is a competition. I look forward to competing every day and getting back on track and running the ball the way I know I can, and running plays I am intrigued by.”
